Alumni Account Privileges

Topic

This article will describe the privileges your Zagmail account will retain after graduation. It will also describe some of the access that is removed once you are an alumnus.

Information

You will retain access to your Zagmail account after graduation, but if the account is unused for more than two years it will be disabled for inactivity in our directory. If you need access to the account after it has been disabled, please call (509)313-5550 for further assistance with the account.

You will retain access to your Zagmail and still be able to receive emails. One of the primary reasons alumni wish to retain access to their Gonzaga account is to request unofficial transcripts. Unofficial transcripts at Gonzaga cannot be sent to any email address other than one with a Zagmail address, you will need to regain access before requesting transcripts.

You will retain access to your Microsoft account associated with your Zagmail, but your rights within the account will change. Alumni accounts are on an "A1 license" and can continue using office 365 but only the web version (not the desktop application versions). OneDrive is also limited to 100GB of storage for alumni accounts.

You will retain access to the Gonzaga Directory in order to reach out and connect with other Gonzaga graduates. Some alumni use the directory to regain contact with previous Zags post-graduation.

You will lose access to any Foley database resources. You will no longer be able to utilize the research libraries and other additional services provided by the library.

You will lose access to most services and applications that are licensed through Gonzaga, such as the housing website, the myGU app, or other applications that are essential to on-campus students.
